Influencer commission calculator

See exactly what the brand keeps and what the creator earns — at any commission rate, selling price, and monthly sales volume.

What this calculator does

When you run an influencer or affiliate program, the commission comes out of your margin — not the influencer's. This calculator shows both sides of the deal: what the brand nets per order after all costs and commission, and what the creator earns. Use it to find the commission rate that keeps both parties profitable.

How to fill it in

  • Selling price — the price customers pay through the creator's link
  • COGS — your cost to make or buy one unit
  • Shipping — your fulfillment cost per order
  • Platform fee % — TikTok Shop 6%, Shopify 2.6%, Amazon 15%, etc.
  • Commission rate — the % you pay the creator on each sale
  • Monthly sales — how many orders you expect through this creator per month
  • Sample cost — what you spent to send product to the creator (one-time)

Worked example — supplement brand on TikTok Shop

Inputs:

Selling price$49.00
COGS$10.00
Shipping$5.50
Platform fee (6%)$2.94
Creator commission (15%)$7.35
Monthly sales via creator300 orders
Sample cost (one-time)$49.00

Result:

Brand profit per order$23.21
Creator earns per order$7.35
Brand monthly profit$6,914
Creator monthly earnings$2,205

At 15% commission, the brand keeps 47% margin and the creator earns $2,205/mo. The volume scenario table shows what happens at 50, 100, 250, 500, and 1,000 orders — use it to figure out which creators are worth pursuing at scale.

Finding the right commission rate

Most TikTok Shop affiliate commissions run 10–20%. Below 10% and top creators won't bother. Above 25% and your margin gets squeezed fast. Adjust the commission slider and watch the brand margin — keep it above 30% if you can, or you're leaving too little room for ad spend and returns.

UGC · Creator economy

UGC creator profit calculator

Know your real effective hourly rate, ideal package pricing, and monthly net income after expenses and tax. Stop guessing.

What this calculator does

Most UGC creators underprice because they only think about what they charge — not what they actually keep after expenses and tax. This calculator works out your effective hourly rate (what you actually earn per hour of work) and shows you what to charge for different package sizes to hit your income goals.

How to fill it in

  • Rate per video — your base charge per deliverable
  • Usage rights fee — extra charge when brands want to run your content as paid ads (typically 50–100% on top of your base rate)
  • Production hours — total hours to script, film, and edit one video
  • Client comms — hours spent on emails, briefs, revisions per deal
  • Videos per month — how many deals you take on
  • Gear & software — monthly amortized cost of your equipment and apps
  • Tax rate — US freelancers owe self-employment tax (~15.3%) plus income tax. Total effective rate is often 25–35%.

Worked example — lifestyle UGC creator

Inputs:

Rate per video$300
Usage rights fee$150
Production time4 hrs/video
Client comms1 hr/deal
Videos per month10
Gear & software$120/mo
Tax rate28%

Result:

Gross monthly revenue$4,500
Expenses + tax$1,380
Net take-home$3,120/mo
Effective hourly rate$62.40/hr

At $62/hr this creator is priced well. If they dropped to $200/video (no usage rights), their effective rate would fall to $32/hr — below what most experienced creators should accept. The package pricing table shows what to charge for bundles of 3, 6, and 12 videos.

Usage rights — why it matters

If a brand wants to run your video as a paid ad, that's a different use than organic posting — and it should cost more. A standard usage rights fee is 50–100% of your base rate, per month of usage. Many creators forget to charge this and leave significant money on the table.

Paid ads · ROAS

Break-even ROAS calculator

Find your minimum ROAS floor — where ads stop losing you money. Works for Meta, TikTok, Google & any paid channel.

What is break-even ROAS?

ROAS (Return on Ad Spend) measures how much revenue you earn per dollar spent on ads. Break-even ROAS is the minimum you need so that ads don't cost you money. If your break-even is 2.5x, you must generate $2.50 in revenue for every $1 spent on ads just to cover all your costs.

How to fill it in

  • AOV — your average order value (what customers typically pay)
  • COGS — what it costs you to make or source the product
  • Shipping — what you pay to fulfill each order
  • Processing % — Stripe is 2.9%, Shopify Payments is 2.6%
  • Platform fees — monthly app costs prorated per order
  • Return rate — your typical % of orders returned
  • Target margin — set to 0 for pure break-even, or enter your profit goal (e.g. 20%)

Worked example — skincare brand on Meta

Inputs:

AOV$75.00
COGS$18.00
Shipping$6.50
Processing (2.9%)$2.18
App fees per order$1.50
Return rate (4%)$0.98
Total cost excl. ads$29.16
Gross profit$45.84

Result:

Break-even ROAS$75 ÷ $45.84 = 1.64x

This brand needs at least $1.64 in revenue per $1 of ad spend to break even. With a 20% profit target, their target ROAS rises to 2.28x. If their Meta campaigns are running at 3x ROAS, they're profitable — but if they drop to 1.5x, they're losing money on every ad dollar.

Reading the gauge

  • Green (≤2x) — great. Ads have a lot of room before they lose money.
  • Amber (2–3.5x) — watch closely. You need solid campaigns to stay profitable.
  • Red (>3.5x) — your margins are thin. Paid ads will be very hard to make work.
⚠ Note. Break-even ROAS is a planning estimate. Actual ad performance depends on platform algorithms, audience quality, creative, and many variables not captured here. Results are not financial advice. Full legal disclaimer →

Pricing · Margin

Product pricing calculator

Enter your COGS and target margin — get the ideal selling price, break-even price, and profit at every price point.

What this calculator does

Most sellers price by guessing or copying competitors — this calculator works backwards from your target profit margin to tell you exactly what price you need to charge. It factors in every cost (COGS, shipping, packaging, platform fees, and ad spend) so you never accidentally underprice.

How to fill it in

  • COGS — your cost to make or buy one unit
  • Shipping — your outbound shipping cost per order
  • Packaging — box, inserts, tape, labels per unit
  • Platform fee % — TikTok Shop is ~6%, Amazon referral is ~15%, Shopify is ~2.6–2.9%
  • Ad spend — your average paid marketing cost per order
  • Target margin — drag to your goal. Most healthy ecom products aim for 20–40%.

Worked example — candle brand on TikTok Shop

Inputs:

COGS (wax, wick, jar, fragrance)$8.00
Shipping$5.50
Packaging (box + insert)$1.25
TikTok platform fee (6%)varies
Ad spend per order$4.00
Target net margin30%

Result:

Recommended price$28.47
Break-even price$19.93

At $28.47 this brand nets $8.54 per order (30% margin). If they price at $24.99 because "it looks better," they're only making 16% — undercutting their own profit target by nearly half. The scenario table shows them exactly what each price point means in real dollars.

Using the scenario table

The table shows 5 price points around your recommended price. The highlighted row (★) is your target. Use the rows above and below to understand the tradeoff between a lower price (more sales, less profit per unit) and a higher price (fewer sales, more profit per unit). Neither is automatically better — it depends on your volume and conversion rate.
